ACTING PRO IN ENGLISH – ACTORS STUDIO
the 3 main classes
Exploration 1: explore your imagination, your body, your emotions, etc.
Exploration 1 is the basic acting training: through a series of group exercises, you’ll learn how to unleash your emotions, expand your imagination, overcome stage fright, sharpen your focus and heighten your senses… in short, all the skills you need to create compelling performances.
Backstory: live authentically fictionnal circumstances
In Backstory, you’ll tackle head-on scenes in pairs: by building a fictional relationship with your scene partner, you’ll learn how to create an improvisation that will eventually become a precise written scene… while still keeping the natural feel of the initial improvisation! The last term is dedicated to working directly on scenes from plays or screenplays.
Scenes 1: sculpting silence with your body language and your emotions
Scenes 1 is an in-depth workshop on subtext: through a series of fictional situations, you’ll learn how to create a scene where you are entirely on your own, without text or miming… and yet, the scene must be full of life! This is how you’ll grasp the importance and superiority of body language and emotions over text.
Note: A basic understanding of French is required for this class. Since it involves no text or improvisation, you’ll be grouped with French-speaking actors and the class will be coached in French. However, your bilingual coach can clarify anything in English if needed.

EXPLORATION 2 : further exploration of the body, imagination, emotions, etc.
Exploration 2 is an advanced training workshop in acting, focusing on specific themes such as horror, seduction and comedy.
SCeNES 3: from the stage to the camera, from the camera to the shooting set
Scenes 3 is all about working on scenes from plays and screenplays, putting into practice all the tools you’ve discovered in the other workshops. It’s also the start of acting in front of the camera. In addition, Scenes 3 is an introduction to personal development, building strength and stamina for your career and future endeavors.
SCENEs 2: THE SCIENCE OF ACTING
Scenes 2 is an exclusive workshop you’ll only find at Method Acting Center and the HB Studio in New York. It is also known as “The Science of Acting”. Here, you’ll learn to wield new tools to bring rhythm, variation and an unparalleled precision to your performances – the signature of great actresses and actors.

screenwriting 1 : from ink to image
Screenwriting 1 begins by teaching you an exclusive, playful and practical method of screenwriting, developed by David(s) Barrouk on the basis of his own professional experience in France and abroad (Netflix, Canal+, Arte etc.), and the American methods of Robert McKee, Syd Field, Paul Schrader, Lew Hunter & William Packard.
Here you’ll learn how to delve deep within yourself to find your stories, the ones no one else can tell, and create captivating, complex characters and powerful plots. All this in order to concretely create the foundations upon which your screenplay is built: from the characters to the structure of your story.

Although this workshop is primarily intended for actors, if you take part in it as a screenwriter, you’ll have the opportunity to select actors for your films and test the scenes you’ve written in your screenplay! An extremely rare opportunity for screenwriters!

Although this workshop is a must for actors, by attending as a screenwriter, you’ll learn how to truly dig within yourself and find out what touches you. Therefore, this workshop is a pratical way of making your inspiration grow!

screenwriting 2: CRAFTING ENTICING DIALOGUES
Screenwriting 2 puts into practice the writing tools of the first year, and also introduces a unique method of writing dialogue to give your characters a real voice, so that you can finalize your feature film or series script within the year.
During this class, you’ll also learn to navigate the cinematic industry and you’ll acquire unique skills to sell your script to producers, directors and production companies in France.

At Method Acting Center, our coaches are required to stay actively engaged in the professional industry. 2025/2026 schedule
To complete the full first-year Acting program, you’ll need to take at least one workshop from each of the following: Exploration 1, Scenes 1 and Backstory. These workshops are available in the morning, afternoon, or evening to fit your schedule. The same flexible options apply for the second-year program: Exploration 2, Scenes 1&2, and Scenes 3.
The workshops start on Monday September 22, 2025, with an intensive week included in the Acting programs.
The workshops end on Wednesday June 30, 2026, for all courses.
Workshops are suspended during the end of the year break (Saturday December 20, 2025 to Sunday January 4, 2026 inclusive) and during the Spring Break (Saturday April 18 to Sunday May 3, 2026).
Workshops are held during the Toussaint and Winter breaks, as well as on public holidays.
